This chart depicts the coastline of the Gulf of Panama from Punta Mariato to Cape Marzo, Colombia. The Gulf is filled with soundings, anchorages, rocks, and shoals, as well as the archipelago of the Pearl Islands. An inset shows a close-up of Piña Bay. The chart extends in the north to show a bit of the Mosquito Gulf and the Gulf of Darien. Surveyed in 1849 by Captain Henry Kellett and Commander James Wood with corrections to May 1862. Engraved by J. & C. Walker and sold by J. D. Potter.
