This decorative map is centered approximately on Hildesheim, with Hannover to the north, Einbeck to the south, Braunschweig to the east, and Hameln to the west. The map is densely engraved with towns, forests, and rivers. The larger cities are depicted with bird's-eye plans. The map is superbly decorated with both a panoramic view and a fortified plan of the city of Hildesheim, and a lovely title cartouche featuring putti, a river goddess, and Cybele, goddess of towns.
