This large map of Asia is a very scarce German version of Guillaume Delisle's 1700 atlas map of the continent, which was reduced from his important wall map. Wolff has closely copied both the cartography and the decorative elements from Delisle's map, however has translated into Latin the title, notations, and place names. The region of northeastern Siberia is incomplete between Nova Zembla and Terra Yeco. Japan is nearly attached to Terra Yeco, which is itself attached to the mainland. A partial coastline of Terre de la Compagnie lies to the east of Japan with a reference to the alleged discoveries of Joao de Gama. The map is boldly engraved and decorated with a title cartouche featuring a procession representing the silk road commerce.

A dark impression on a bright sheet with a fleur-de-lis watermark. There is some foxing that is almost entirely confined to the edges of the sheet, and a couple of small pieces of tape along the top edge of the sheet, well away from the image.
