A detailed map showing U.S. military operations in the region during the Battle of Manila, the first and largest battle during the Philippine-American War (1899-1902). A legend identifies the division headquarters, various brigades, and troop quarters in red and brown overprinting. The underlying map provides additional detail on roads, trails, railroads, dykes and more. The Second Division of the 8th Army Corps was commanded by General Arthur MacArthur, whose son General Douglas MacArthur also played a prominent role in the Philippines during World War II.
