This charming small map of Sumatra includes parts of the Malay Peninsula, Java and Borneo. The map was created to illustrate the Portuguese expedition of Diego Lopez de Sequeira of 1509. Adorned with a pictorial title cartouche featuring natives, snakes, and a volcano.

A dark impression, issued folding with very light of offsetting from an opposing page of text and soiling along the bottom edge of the sheet. Narrow left margin.
