Librarian and scholar Neal Harlow's excellent reference tells the story of San Diego through maps of its pueblo lands. It describes 79 maps, starting with a chart from the official cosmographer of the Vizcaino expedition and ending with a plat of the pueblo lands for the General Land Office. 25 of the maps are accompanied by black & white reproductions. The map descriptions are preceded by a comprehensive account of the history of the area. There are two appendices, notes, bibliography, and an index. This is number 9 of a limited edition of only 375 copies. Published by Dawson's Book Shop in Los Angeles. Hardbound with pictorial boards and blue cloth spine with gilt titles. 244 pp.
