This sheet includes two engravings of Mexican idols, engraved by Bernard Picart. These engravings were published in Ceremonies et Coutumes Religieuses de tous les Peuples du Monde (Religious Ceremonies and Customs of All the Peoples of the World), which covered all of the religions around the world known to Europeans at the time with the intent to describe each religion and relate them to one another.
