This handsome, detailed map covering the southern part of the continent is based on the cartography of Delisle and the information gleaned from the voyages of Brouwer, Narbouroug, and Beauchesne. Filled with information of settlements, missions, forests, rivers, volcanoes, and mountains. In the lower right corner is an inset plan of the city of Santiago, and in the lower left corner is a decorative title cartouche incorporating an erupting volcano.

A nice impression with contemporary color on a watermarked sheet. There is light soiling, an extraneous crease that runs parallel to the centerfold, and a short centerfold separation at bottom that has been closed on verso with paper tape.
