This uncommon little map illustrates the travels of Diego Lopez De Sequeira, a Portuguese admiral, who was governor of Portuguese India between 1518 and 1522. In 1520 he led a military campaign to the Red Sea and helped establish an embassy to Ethiopia. A large pictorial cartouche fills the sea between Indian and Africa.
