Three FDR items. The first is a typed letter signed (6.1 x 9.2") on official White House stationary from Roosevelt's Private Secretary M.A. LeHand to Miss Margaret Levy declining her request for his signature. LeHand writes "I am sure you can understand the situation." Dated October 15, 1934. The second item is the accompanying envelope (8.8 x 3.9") addressed to Miss Levy, postmarked January 14, 1935. Interestingly, the envelope used was from his time as governor, with the return address being "State of New York Executive Chamber Albany." The third piece is a Christmas card (7.2 x 5.0") from the Roosevelts when FDR was the governor (circa 1930), with the executive mansion prominently depicted.
