An interesting sheet composed of 14 vignettes showing the native Virginians that the first European explorers encountered in the New World, taken from Theodore de Bry's influential work. Included are ceremonial dances, burial practices, farming, hunting, villages, costumes, etc. Each engraving is accompanied by an explanation in French text.

A crisp impression on a sheet with a Strasbourg Bend & Lily watermark, marginal soiling, and a short centerfold separation in the bottom blank margin.
