This splendidly decorative map covers the Muese River valley including Namur and Liege, with west oriented at top of map. It is exquisitely engraved with an elaborate cartouche and scale of miles. Latin text on verso. This is the first state of this plate with no stippling behind the text "Scala Milliarium Leodieuf" in the distance scale. Very early impression of this map.

A sharp impression on a watermarked sheet with very light toning, a short archivally repaired centerfold separation at bottom, and light damp stains that just enter the border at top.
