This handsome map of the Iberian Peninsula shows Spain, Portugal, and the Balearic Islands in excellent detail. It is divided into provinces and royal regions and names many towns and cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Valencia, Lisbon, and Porto. There is nice detail of the region's mountains and rivers. The elaborate title cartouche at bottom right includes several flags, two caballeros with their horses, and two reclining figures. At the top of the cartouche, there is a medallion that typically includes a portrait but is curiously blank on this example. There are four distance scales at bottom left. Engraved by Louis Cordier.
