This very uncommon and interesting map of the Americas is colored to show the various European possessions. The boundary between the United States and Canada reflects the U.S. viewpoint with claims into present-day Canada. Present-day California, Texas, and the American Southwest are still shown as Spanish possessions. Florida is divided into east and west. Numerous Indian tribes are named. The mythical Lake Parime appears in South America. Published by Tranquillo Mollo, a Viennese engraver and publisher whose works rarely appear on the market.
