This colorful and unusual map focuses on the rug trade in the Middle East and Central Asia. It extends from Turkey and Egypt to the western borders of China and Tibet. Along the way, it identifies both major and minor cities that are key to the region's rug trade. The key in the title cartouche also identifies caravan routes, railways, and ruins. Published in Vienna by Verlag der Teppich-Borse. Dissected and mounted on linen and stores in a cloth case with gilt title on cover.
