Cal Rambeau's beautifully designed pictorial map of California was published by the California Fruit Growers Exchange, "a cooperative marketing organization of 14,000 California and Arizona citrus growers." It highlights the state's citrus groves, most of which are concentrated in Southern California. It extends into Arizona to show groves in Yuma and Phoenix as well. The map features nice detail of the state's topography, depicting its mountains, rivers, lakes, and deserts. Yosemite Valley is located, and redwoods are noted in Northern California. Sunkist Headquarters is identified in Los Angeles. At right is a large illustration of a citrus tree with vignettes depicting the citrus growing process from budding to irrigation, picking to packing. A table at bottom right features botanical characteristics and information about lemons, navel and Valencia oranges, and grapefruit. In keeping with the theme of the map, the compass rose is an orange. The map comes with a teacher's guide to the map, a pamphlet, and the original envelope the map was mailed in, addressed to the Citrus Avenue School in Chico, California.
