This 202 page transportation plan was compiled by the engineering firm of Kelker, De Leuw & Co. (Chicago) for the Los Angeles City Council and Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. The report proposes a "comprehensive elevated railway and subway plan" to address the inadequacy of the existing surface street car lines to support a population that had grown from just over 500,000 in 1910 to over 2.2 million by 1930 (Los Angeles County). In addition to numerous in-text figures and tables, the report is supplemented by 24 plates (22 are folding maps) that detail the transportation network, location of the population, businesses, and the options for rapid transit. Quarto, hardbound in green cloth with gilt title on spine.
