This beautifully engraved globe half-gore, or calotte, was created for one of Coronelli's largest globes, a 3.5 foot terrestrial globe. The gore shows the region from southern Mexico and the Yucatan, through Central America, part of Colombia, and extending to Jamaica and Cuba. Inland detail is limited, as Coronelli is well known for making a concerted effort to delineate only verified discoveries. On a sheet of Italian text measuring 13.6 x 19.3".

A nice impression on a bright sheet with minor marginal soiling and a horizontal crease just below the image, where the sheet was folded for framing purposes.
