Handsome map of the Persian Empire during the time of the Safavid dynasty. It covers the region from the Caucasus to India, with the Persian Gulf coastline of the Arabian peninsula. Good detail includes rivers and hundreds of tiny villages. Beautifully decorated with a sailing ship, a fine title cartouche featuring a Persian ruler and two warriors, and a local surveyor beside the scale of miles. Latin text on verso.
