This interesting tactile relief map of the Panama Canal allows the viewer to feel the contours of the Panamanian landscape. The map is copyrighted a year before the canal was completed and opened. It depicts the progress of the construction and locates locks, proposed fortifications, the railroad, and much more. The key at top identifies lights, range lights, targets, buoys, and wireless stations. A dotted line delineates the border between the Panama Canal Zone and the Republic of Panama. The map is printed on both sides of the sheet. It comes with a printed card envelope that includes a timeline, construction data, a profile view of the canal, a photograph of Culebra Cut and Gold Hill, and a poem. According to advertising copy on the envelope, C.P. Gray published this view in six different sizes and languages.
