This colorful pictorial map of Stratford-upon-Avon is sure to appeal to fans of the town's most famous son, William Shakespeare. A portrait of "the Immortal Bard" overlooks the bird's-eye view of the town, and quotes and scenes from 16 of his major plays surround the map. Scenes from Shakespeare's life are incorporated into the view, alongside the various sites of interest. Insets show Anne Hathaway's cottage and Mary Arden's house. The map was designed by Kerry Lee and published by his company Pictorial Maps Ltd. Just as you will find illustrations of Georg Hoefnagel within his own compositions for Braun and Hogenberg, Lee appears signing his name beside his dog in the bottom right hand corner of the map. Other maps in this popular series include London, Cambridge, Oxford, Liverpool, and Leeds. Printed in Great Britain by Alabaster Passmore & Sons Ltd.
