This striking bird's-eye plan of the town of Bailleul was published in Blaeu's town book of the Netherlands. Bailleul, also known by its Dutch name of Belle, is located just two miles from the border between France and Belgium. The view shows the town with the Eglise de Saint-Vaast at its center. A key at bottom right identifies 18 more sites of interest. An inset map at bottom left zooms out to detail the town's surroundings. The plan also includes two coats of arms and a compass rose capped with a fleur-de-lis. Above the plan, there is a beautiful prospect view of the town. The plan was drawn by Vedastus du Plovich. Dutch text on verso.
