This rare map spans the coast of northeastern Germany and Poland, extending from Rostock to Konigsberg (Kaliningrad). It stretches as far south as Opole. The map delineates political divisions and features plenty of place names and topographical detail of forests, mountains, and rivers. Several ships and an attractive compass rose capped with a fleur-de-lis decorate the Baltic. This example likely appeared in Charles Berey's re-issue of Tassin's Les Cartes Generales de Toutes les Provinces de France. Although commonly referred to as Nicholas Tassin, his actual name was Christophe Tassin.
