This detailed map follows the course of the Danube and its tributaries across the northwestern Balkans with the political divisions of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, and Dalmatia. The map features a large portrait of Rudolf II, the Holy Roman Emperor from 1576-1612. Engraved by Quad, with his initial "Q" at bottom right, as well as the imprint of Johan Bussemacher, who published several of Quad's works. Latin text on verso.

Condition: A
A nice impression with a short centerfold separation at bottom that has been closed on verso with archival material. There are a few dampstains along the left sheet edge and a small edge tear in the bottom blank margin that has been closed on recto with old paper.
