This is the complete issue of the Turkish satirical magazine Akbaba from 1936. It features a stunning illustration on the front cover by Cemal Nadir depicting a yellow octopus with a menacing face surrounding the globe with its tentacles. Includes the caption "Sari tehlike: Dünyayi kizil tehlikeden koruyacagim! (Yellow hazard: I will protect the world from the Red hazard). This striking image symbolized the perceived threats posed by Japan and the Soviet Union prior to World War II. Nadir was a pioneer of Turkish cartoon art and is often referred to as the “Turkish Walt Disney.” 17 pages, paper wrappers.
