Perry's terrific reference is filled with large illustrations, many in color, of the important maps of discovery of Australia. Dr. Perry describes how the unknown 'Terra Australiis Incognita' disappeared from maps as explorers mapped the Pacific and Indian oceans. The book includes reproductions of the works of Blaeu, Mercator, Ortelius, Hondius, Jansson, Visscher, Goos, Thevenot, Arrowsmith, Cook, and many others. Hard bound with illustrated dust jacket, 159 pages, index, list of plates. Condition: Contents are very good with some light scattered foxing along the edges of the text. Covers have minor soiling and shelf wear. Dust jacket is lightly soiled. (B+)

The author describes in detail the various stages of discovery and the impact it had on European thought and imagination. 242 pp. with many illustrations, both color and B&W. Hardbound in cream cloth covers with gilt text on spine, with dust jacket. Condition: Contents are tight. Covers have a touch of shelf wear. Dust jacket has some minor soiling. (A)
