As the text on verso states, this fascinating propaganda map was issued by the War Resisters League "to graphically illustrate the magnitude and pervasiveness of the nuclear menace, to help stimulate organizing against nukes, and to emphasize the inseparable link between weapons and power." The War Resisters League, founded in 1923, is a secular, pacifist organization in the United States dedicated to campaigning against war and military interventions. The map highlights nuclear weapons facilities, power reactors, and miscellaneous facilities in the United States, identified with the help of a legend at bottom right. It also emphasizes nuclear targets, "areas subject to direct nuclear attack during a nuclear war (either blast, heat or initial radiation)." Verso includes additional information on reactor locations, ways to take actions, resources, and more. The map was prepared by Ed and Grace Hedemann, Gale Jackson, Jennifer Kraar, and Jo Moody, with help from Hope Harle and Elaine Douglass. This is the second edition.
