This literal treasure map was created based on 10 years of research conducted by Dean Hyskell and C. O. Davis. The map shows the locations of 46 lost mines in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Mexico. Each of the lost mines is numbered and described in a legend at top left. Scroll insets show Texas, the western coast of Mexico, and the region around Superstition Mountains in Arizona. US and State highways are noted throughout the map to assist the motorist in finding the mines. The border is filled with depictions of Native American Indians, explorers, miners, state flags, and symbols intended to help locate treasures and mines. This map was advertised in the classified section of the December 1961 issue of "Desert Magazine" with a "money back if not pleased" guarantee. The map was available in three editions: "vellum finish, white, offset book, at $2; ivory-toned, deckle-edged Strathmore text, $3; and plate parchment, $5." Published by Treasurama of North Hollywood, California.
