A. Proposed Glacier National Park, [with report] To Establish Glacier National Park in Montana, by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), published 1908, black & white (20.4 x 18.0"). This is possibly the first map to show the proposed park before it was established in 1910. The map extends from the U.S./Canadian border south to Bear Creek and from the Flathead River east to the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. Locates numerous glaciers, lakes, creeks, and the Continental Divide. Accompanied by the 5 page disbound report and 10 plates on heavy paper. Condition: Map is fine (A+)
B. Aeroplane Map of Glacier National Park Montana with New Logan Pass Detour, by McGill-Warner Co., circa 1935, printed color (17.1 x 31.0"). This "aeroplane" map was published for the Great Northern Railway, and presents the rugged topography and drainage systems of the park in bold color with a three-dimensional quality. A legend at top identifies the Logan Pass detour, auto roads, secondary roads, trails, and more. The Great Northern Railway is located at bottom along the Flathead River and Bear Creek. Includes photographic illustrations of several hotels and a table of distances. Related text and illustrations on verso. Condition: A fine example, issued folding. (A+)
C. Aeroplane Map of Glacier National Park Montana and Waterton Lake Park Alberta, by McGill-Warner Co., circa 1940, printed color (17.3 x 31.1"). A similar map to the above that extends to include Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada. Locates roads and trails in red overprinting and the Great Northern Railway at bottom. Includes a table of distances and index at bottom. Related text and illustrations on verso. Condition: An attractive example, issued folding, with some minor loss along the bottom fold at left. (B+)
