This uncommon view of New York City was published in the August 1761 issue of the London Magazine. It is a later, much smaller variant of William Burgis' six foot wide view of the city first published in 1717 and entitled "A South Prospect of the Flourishing City of New York in ye Province of New York in America.” This view was taken from Brooklyn Heights and captures the bustling waterfront of the East River with Manhattan in the background. 22 important sites are identified including Fort Amsterdam (#1), Chapel (#2), and Great Dock (#4) to name a few.
