This scarce map on a North Polar projection includes three separate title cartouches enabling the map to be oriented in three different directions. The map shows most of the northern hemisphere, although it only extends to the equator in the far corners of the sheet, thereby omitting portions of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, as well as Africa. Important cities are labeled with symbols representing their population. Distances between cities are also noted throughout the map. In North America, Mexico encompasses the southern United States and the border between the United States and Canada reflects US interests in the Oregon boundary dispute. In Asia, the Sea of Japan is labeled "Gulf of Corea." Engraved by A. Reed.

A nice impression on a bright sheet with a hint of soiling.
