This is a lovely little map of the islands of Japan. Mallet draws on several cartographers for this representation, thereby making this map cartographically unique. A large decorative title cartouche fills the bottom of the map, and a tiny ship sails in the sea. French text on verso.

Condition: A

A dark impression with a touch of printer's ink residue at bottom right and some minor toning and soiling confined to the blank margins.
