This intricately engraved pair of maps cover the Nile River. The first map zooms in to show the Nile Delta. It locates Alexandria, Damanhour, Suez, Cairo, and other towns and cities in the region. It delineates roads and includes impressive topographical detail. The second sheet includes two maps tracing the course of the river from Cairo to the second cataract. There is detail of the mountains along the river and several towns are named. A key below the neatline identifies cities, villages, fortresses, currents, sands, and more. North is oriented to the bottom. Both maps feature decorative title cartouches and distance scales.
