This is an Italian edition of Buffier's geography book first published in 1715. It contains 18 (of 19) folding maps: World, Europe, Italy, France, Low Countries, Switzerland, German Empire, Rhine, Britain, Scandinavia, Poland, Turkish Empire, Greece, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Americas, and Cook's discoveries in the Pacific (missing the Spain & Portugal map). Both the world map and the Americas map show the island of California. The map of the Americas also shows the great Southern Continent (Terre Australe) and places the Solomon Islands and New Zealand far too close to South America. The book is written in a unique "question and answer" format. 334 pages, title page, preface, table of contents, and 18 maps. Hardbound in vellum.
