A bold strapwork border surrounds this charming miniature map of the heavens with the major constellations delineated. It is based on the celestial map from Ortelius' Epitome, which was derived from a chart by Plancius. German text on verso, published in either Geographischer eyn oder Zusammengezogener Tabeln (1612) or Beshreibung der Gantzen Welt (1650), an identical edition with the exception of its title page.
