This fine map of the county has an inset plan of Monmouth and portrait of King Henry V who was born at Monmouth Castle. The map shows the six hundreds, cities, markets, towns, and villages with a surprising amount of detail. Large strapwork cartouches balance the corners of the map. Imprint of Thomas Bassett and Richard Chiswell at bottom left. English text on verso.

A nice impression on a sheet with a fleur-de-lis watermark. A centerfold separation that enters 2" into the map image at bottom has been closed on verso with archival materials. There is a chip in the top left margin, well away from map image.
