An early map of Switzerland with north oriented at the bottom of the chart. The map was based on the work of Aegidius Tschudi, a historian of the Swiss Confederation. The title is engraved onto the top of an unusual three-dimensional title box. Latin text on verso.

References: Van den Broecke #115.

Condition: A

A dark, early impression with light printer's ink residue on a sturdy sheet with the crossed arrows watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps. There is marginal toning and soiling and remnants of hinge tape on verso.
