This lovely map focuses on the islands in the Aegean Sea. The islands and the surrounding coastlines of Greece and Turkey are filled with place names and topographical detail. The map is dedicated to Conte Ritiero Marscotti, Senatore di Bologna. The decorative title cartouche is engraved on a scallop shell flanked by Venus and Neptune riding hippocampi. A dark impression with faded contemporary outline color on paper with a pascal lamb watermark, light printer's ink residue, and several printer's creases at left. There is one small spot of soiling at left and light toning along the edges of the sheet.
