This handsome map of the Persian Empire extends from the Caspian Sea to the Arabian Sea, and as far east as the Indus River. Decorated with a lovely cartouche and engraved by Jean Somer.

Condition: A

A crisp impression on a bright sheet with a large coat of arms watermark, contemporary outline color in the map, and later color in the cartouche. There is light soiling and toning along the edges of the sheet and a couple of tiny chips along the bottom of the sheet.
