Handsome map covering the vicinity of Louisburg with two maps on the sheet. First is a bird's eye plan of the fortified city showing the batteries, lighthouse, military quarters, etc. The second is a plan of the vicinity with an inset of Gabarus Bay. Both include delicately engraved title cartouches that include brief descriptions of the battles fought in 1745 and large compass roses.

A strong impression, issued folding on watermarked paper with a few tiny spots of foxing. There is a binding trim at lower right that has been replaced with old paper and associated 3.5" binding tear that has been professionally repaired on verso.
