Printed on thin banknote-style paper, this pocket map of the state is delineated by county and depicts railroads, roads, canals, towns and cities, and the vast wetlands along the Gulf Coast. County development is current to the date of this map, however, Lafourche County is still shown as Lafourche Interior (the name changed in 1853). Surrounded by Colton's decorative strapwork border. Folds into green cloth boards (3.4 x 5.0") with gilt title on the front cover. Includes an advertisement for other Colton maps and atlases on the front pastedown.
