This copper-engraved, Ogilby-style strip road map includes a coat-of-arms and descriptive text by John Owen. This sheet shows the road from Upton, through York, ending at North Allerton. B. The Road from London to St. Neots &c Comencing at Barnet..., by Owen & Bowen, from Britannia Depicta, circa 1720 (4.6 x 7.1"). This copper-engraved, Ogilby-style strip road map includes descriptive text by John Owen. This sheet shows the road from High Barnet on the outskirts of London to Oakham. C. Biggleswade 15, Bugden 16, (Huntingdon 3 1/2) [on verso] Stilton 14 (Peterboro 6 1/2) Stamford 14, Coltsworth 13, by Carrington Bowles, dated 1785 (3.5 x 6.4"). This strip-style road map includes two routes. The first is from Baldock to Lincoln, and the second is from Stamford to Colsterworth.
