This handsome map focuses on the region surrounding Waldeck in northern Hessen. The map is finely engraved to show rivers, forests, mountains, cities, and villages. It is decorated with the coat-of-arms as part of the decorative title cartouche. A second cartouche contains the distance scale with putti using surveying equipment. Latin text on verso.

A crisp impression with full contemporary color and a hint of toning. The sheet has been professionally backed with archival tissue to repair some cracks due to the oxidation of the green pigment and a centerfold separation at bottom.
