A. La Grece ou Partie Meridionale de la Turquie d'Europe Dressee sur les Dernieres Observations, by Jacques Chiquet, from Le Nouveau et Curieux Atlas Geographique et Historique, circa 1719 (8.6 x 6.4"). This handsome small map of Greece is filled with information and identifies dozens of tiny islands. The map features a decorative title cartouche and a secondary cartouche with information on the region. References: Mickwitz & Miekkavaara #43-23; Shirley (BL Atlases) T.MEN-1b; Zacharakis #605. Condition: A dark impression with light soiling, issued folding and now flattened with archival repairs to separations along the centerfold, with a minor amount of the image replaced in facsimile.
B. Liuadie. Moree, by Philippe Briet, from Parallela Geographiae Veteris et Novae, published 1649 (7.4 x 5.8"). This charming small map depicts southern Greece and includes ancient place names. Detail is limited to political boundaries, rivers, mountains, and a few cities. References: Pastoureau, BRIET I [98]; Shirley (BL Atlases) T.BRIE-1a. Condition: A crisp impression with contemporary outline color and later wash coloring. There are dampstains at top and bottom left.
