This fine and embellished map of Sicily is filled with detail including towns, cities, rivers, pictorial forests and topography, and an erupting Mt. Etna. The main map is surrounded by insets of the larger towns on the island including Messina, Milazzo, Palermo, Catania, and Trapano. Further decorated by a banner-style title cartouche held aloft by putti, dedication cartouche, compass rose, and warring ships in the Mediterranean.
