The bays and safe anchorages in the Red Sea are mapped on this interesting chart from this scarce sea atlas. Eleven separate plans are included with details of ports in Egypt, Somalia, Arabia, and Yemen. This is one of the earliest maps to focus on this region.

A crisp impression on watermarked paper with contemporary outline color. There are a few small cracks due to the oxidation of the green pigment that have been closed with archival tape on verso. In the blank margins there is some tape residue and light toning.
