A uncommon map focusing on the coastlines from Valparaiso and the Rio de la Plata to the southern tip of South America. Capes, bays, rivers and towns along the coasts are identified, and there are a number of notes in the map regarding discoveries and natives. The note in the Pacific Ocean credits the cartography to Condamine, Bouguer and Maldonado. The note in the Atlantic Ocean lists the regions in Central and South America and explains how to pronounce indigenous place names. Adorned with a superb title cartouche featuring galleons, gold coins, and the bounty of the land.
