An early map of Switzerland with north oriented at the bottom of the chart. The map was based on the work of Aegidius Tschudi, a historian of the Swiss Confederation. The title is engraved onto the top of an unusual three-dimensional title box. Latin text on verso.

Condition: B+

A dark impression on paper with the crossed arrows watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps, with some printer's ink residue. There are professional repairs to separations along the centerfold and to a nearly invisible tear that enters 5" into image at top
