This beautifully engraved copper plate map, after Didier Robert de Vaugondy, describes the Maritimes and New England with an inset of the Great Lakes and course of the Mississippi River. The title is enclosed in a decorative cartouche. This is the first state of this map with the notes on fishing boundaries intact.

Condition: B+
A crisp impression with light toning and foxing that is more prominent in the blank margins. There is a chip at top right and a tear that enters less than 1/2" into the image at top right that has been closed on verso with hinge tape.
