This superb pictorial map highlights the farming, agriculture and natural beauty of the continental United States. Hardworking immigrants are seen plowing the fields, herding livestock, and milking cows, and the map portrays the United States as a land of fertile soil and great bounty. The map was created by Paul Sample and published by Associate American Artists as part of a series of three lithographic maps, including William Gropper's America Its Folklore and Aaron Bohrod’s America: Its History, designed to celebrate American geography, history and culture.
