Hardworking immigrants are seen plowing the fields, herding livestock, and milking cows, and the map portrays the United States as a land of fertile soil and great bounty. The map was created by Paul Sample and published by Associate American Artists as part of a series of three lithographic maps, including William Gropper's America Its Folklore and Aaron Bohrod’s America: Its History, designed to celebrate American geography, history and culture.
